Q & A
How does pick up work?
Every Wednesday is pickup day between 3-7 pm. Pick up is located in downtown Saint Mary's at 911 Ann Street. Just pull up to the front door and grab the bag that has your name on it.
How do I order?
Please place your order by Sunday night for the following Wednesday pickup day. Any orders recieved after Sunday night will be fullfilled for the next ordering schedule date (the next Monday).
What if I miss my pick up?
No problem, send me a message or call and you can pick it up the next day.
Can I cancel my Bread Club Subscription?
Yes! You can cancel at anytime. Please send me a message so I can update the system.
Can I add on specialty loaves to my already existing Bread Club Subscription order?
Yes, you can place add ons to an already existing order. Simply add to the cart and submit.
What's the best way to store the bread?
The brown paper bag that you will pick your bread up in is the best way to keep your bread or a linen/cotton bag if you own your own bread bag. It is a breathable bag in which air can move freely through. Compared to a plastic bag which will retain moisture and facilitate mold growth. If kept in a plastic bag I've noticed the crust seems to get tacky and sticky.
As well as keeping the bread fresher longer the brown paper bag albeit is less attractive is a conscious environmental decision to stay away from plastic packaging.
Once you slice your bread, put it back in the bag cut side down to slow down the hardening of the end piece.
I have stale bread, how can i use it?
SO many ways!
-Croutons
-Bread crumbs
-Bread pudding
-Slice and rehydrate with butter or mayonnaise and fry in a pan (it'll soften up)
-French toast
-Mingas (Spanish inspired breakfast dish, a must try!)
How do I know when there's going to be a Pop Up Shop?
Pop Up Shops are comepletely random! I usually plan it a week before and send out an update through Facebook, Nextdoor or Instagram. Once the bread starts to develop a following then I can start to wean away from the Pop Up Shops entirely and strictly fullfill online orders. Until then you'll see me (and myhusband + children! ) out by our yard with buckets of bread!
Do you offer Gluten free alternatives?
Not at this time. But I plan on getting one on the menu in the future.
*Local ingredients sourced when available
When I think about making bread for my community I want it to be as nutrient dense and healthy as the same bread that I make and feed to my small children. That means sourcing local (and organic when I can get it) ingredients when possible or as close to local or regional as I can get. Want to know where your ingredients come from?
Organic stoneground flour- Carolina Ground; Henderson NC
Eggs- From our chickens in Saint Marys
Milk- The Milk House; Metter GA
Honey- Crystals Raw Southern Wildflower Honey; Louisiana
*This is a colllective list. Not all ingredients are in the sourdough bread.
